The Evolution Silicon EVOSIL® Bio-Based Series Debuts at the International Rubber Exhibition, Pioneering a Revolution in Green Materials
17 Sep,2025
On September 17, the 23rd China International Rubber Technology Exhibition (RubberTech China 2025) officially kicked off with great fanfare at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. This year, Anhui Evolution Silicon Nanomaterials Technology Co., Ltd. made a stunning debut at the event, showcasing its innovative product lineup—including the EVOSIL® bio-based silica—highlighted by the world’s first carbon dioxide acidification technology and the company’s pioneering "turning waste into treasure" green philosophy. These cutting-edge offerings drew significant attention, attracting numerous domestic and international customers eager to explore collaboration opportunities.
Focusing on green innovation and technological breakthroughs
At this global rubber event, Evolution Silicon's booth was constantly bustling with visitors. Customers seeking consultations came and went without a break. As a pioneer in the bio-based silica field, the company has introduced several core products—such as EVOSIL® high-performance bio-based silica, EVOSIL® waterborne nano bio-based silica dispersion, and EVOSIL® bio-based silica matting agent—that perfectly align with the exhibition's green theme, making them the center of attention for customers both at home and abroad.
From rice husks to high-performance materials: a stunning transformation
The core appeal of the Evolution Silicon booth stems from its revolutionary production process. Backed by years of research and development成果 from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the team led by Academician Zhang Liqun, the company has pioneered a groundbreaking bio-based silicon dioxide preparation technology using carbon dioxide acidification—marking a radical departure from the traditional sulfuric acid-based production method. This innovative technique leverages agricultural waste materials like rice husks and straw as raw resources, not only turning "waste into valuable products" but also replacing sulfuric acid with carbon dioxide as the precipitating agent. As a result, producing just 1 ton of the final product can cut carbon emissions by 0.6 tons compared to the conventional sulfuric acid process, truly embodying a circular economy model that uses carbon to manage carbon.
EVOSIL® bio-based silica (a core reinforcing material for rubber) significantly enhances the tensile strength and abrasion resistance of rubber materials thanks to its exceptional performance. In tire manufacturing, this product simultaneously reduces rolling resistance and energy consumption while maintaining outstanding wet grip performance at low temperatures—perfectly balancing energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and driving safety. Meanwhile, the company has also developed EVOSIL® bio-based silica matting agents tailored for coatings and ink applications. Made from renewable resources and featuring precisely controlled nano-scale particle distribution, these products deliver superior matting effects. Additionally, the EVOSIL® waterborne nano bio-silica dispersion addresses a longstanding industry challenge: the difficult dispersion of traditional powders. Its stable colloidal formulation can be directly incorporated into water-based coatings and adhesives, simplifying production processes and cutting VOC emissions. All of these innovative products have garnered significant interest from both domestic and international customers, further highlighting their versatile applicability and eco-friendly attributes.
International clients are flocking to explore collaboration opportunities.
At the exhibition, Evolution Silicon’s innovative technologies and product performance have earned widespread recognition in international markets. After thoroughly examining the product features, a technical director from a leading German tire manufacturer remarked: "This bio-based silica impresses not only with its exceptional dispersibility and reinforcing capabilities but also, crucially, with its remarkable carbon-reduction benefits—qualities that perfectly align with the latest environmental regulations set by the European Union." Meanwhile, representatives from Southeast Asian rubber product companies expressed strong interest in localizing raw material procurement. With annual rice husk production exceeding 200 million tons in Southeast Asia, customers believe this technology can directly leverage local agricultural waste, significantly cutting down on raw material transportation costs while driving industry upgrades.
The on-site head of Evolution Silicon introduced that the exhibition welcomed professional visitors from more than 10 countries on its first day, including several cooperation intentions reached with leading tire companies from Europe, Southeast Asia, and China.
Bio-based materials are leading the industry's transformation.
As the global "dual-carbon" goals gain momentum, the green transformation of the rubber industry is already well underway. Shao Jin, Chairman of Anhui Evolution Silicon, stated: "The enthusiastic response to this year's exhibition underscores the promising future of bio-based materials in the rubber industry. Evolution Silicon will continue to uphold our philosophy of 'rooted in nature, designed for nature,' leveraging our independently developed core technologies to deliver sustainable material solutions to the global rubber industry."
During the three-day exhibition, Evolution Silicon not only showcased the technological prowess of China's new materials enterprises but also shared with the world China's innovative approach to green development in the rubber industry. This material revolution, which began with rice husks, is now gaining global momentum through the widespread promotion of the EVOSIL® product line, injecting a steady stream of "Chinese wisdom" into the sustainable growth of the rubber industry.
